WE RUN FOR WOMEN'S EDUCATION
Join us on Saturday, May 6, 2023, for the 13th annual P.E.O. "Race For The Stars". Proceeds from 5K run/walk will go to support women's education through our P.E.O. projects.
The event is open to all women - whether you choose to run or walk. The 3.1 mile course will begin and end at Brown's Park in Abilene, KS. Racers may alternately choose to participate in a virtual race. Registration is from 8:00 a.m. - 8:45 a.m., with the race starting at 9:00 a.m. The awards ceremony will begin as soon as the last walker is in. Awards will be given for the top overall female and top three in each age group that participates in person (12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+). A "Race For the Stars" t-shirt will be provided to each registrant. (If registration is received after April 15, a t-shirt is not guaranteed.) For up-to-date information, keep an eye on the PEO Race for the Stars Facebook page.
P.E.O. is a philanthropic education organization where women celebrate the advancement of women; educate women through grants, scholarships, awards, loans, and the stewardship of Cottey College, and motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations.
In addition to supporting the national and international P.E.O. projects, P.E.O. Chapter GY, Abilene, KS, awards two local scholarships - one to an Abilene High School graduate, and one to a Chapman High School graduate. It is the mission of Chapter GY to continue this tradition of giving through the proceeds of "Race For The Stars."
